Food Tripping With Sherwin Laus: Googel Bar And Grill

I recently discovered a gem in the heart of Mandaluyong. The place is called Googel Bar and Grill! It is conveniently located within the Punta Mandala Park business center, Shaw Boulevard.

OK, first of all, Mandala Park is an oasis in an overcrowded metropolis. Upon entering the property, you'll immediately feel as if you've just stepped out of the hustle and grind of the city. Parking and vehicle security isn't an issue at all. So, you can have your peace of mind while you enjoy your time drinking the evening away.

Now for the resto. It is huge. The main area is al fresco with two pool tables and a stage. It could get really loud when performers are doing their thing on stage. But, who really cares? Entertainment is one of the things that brought you there in the first place, right? There are also several Television sets distributed all over the place; showing local basketball games. If you prefer the hushed ambience, Googel has a separate venue for the tranquil souls.

Service is excellent. They have some of the friendliest and respectful staff there is. Orders are delivered to your table expeditiously. My experience: When a Googel staff member figured that one of my orders might be a few minutes late, he proactively apologized and informed me of the possibility. Luckily, it didn't come to pass. But, I greatly appreciated the fact that they set my expectations. Excellent customer service put to practice!

Googel Pork Sisig

The food? Delicious, but not extraordinary. Not something one would go gaga over. But let me repeat: The food is delicious! My favorite was the pork sisig and their Igado. Affordable? Yes! And that's the best thing about it. No wonder the nine-to-sixers flock to this haven after work. The booze? They offer the customary beer buckets plus pulutan promo.

So, would I recommend Googel Bar and Grill to my family and friends? Definitely! It may not be your typical cozy hangout, but every little thing else they offer makes it worth the try. I guess my bias was influenced by the friendliness of the people. Service for me is always up there with the quality of the food. And, Googel excelled in that criterion. Check it out, and discover something new in that area.
